Blog Update

After much consideration I have decided that I can no longer maintain the Local Food Heroes Directory of farm-shops and local food outlets in Leicestershire. I will still continue to write about local food in Leicestershire, it's just that I don't have the time or resources to keep the directory up to date.

I am currently going through all my blog entries to delete the ones that are no longer needed: past events etc. I've also moved the Local Food Heroes Blog home-page: it's now the main site home-page at

For the time being, the blog's RSS feed will remain where it's always been.

Thanks Phil for all you’ve done over the years – I’ve found your directory full of useful information and realise just how much time all of this takes. Keep that blog going!

Many thanks Sallie. It was with some misgivings that I made my decision. My health and the cost of finding all the outlets, particularly in the North of the County, contributed. However, I felt that rather than do it badly, it was best not to do it at all. One consolation is that now there are so many more people selling locally produced food that a directory is hardly necessary. I don’t know about your area, but around here I’m almost tripping over farm-shops!

Keep up the great work that you and Leicestershire Food Links do.

I'm somewhat incapacitated at present so replies may take some time. Please post urgent enquiries at the forum.
